I feel a bit silly saying this, but I find it really difficult to pin mohair! It all seems to bunch up! When I made my first bear, I gave up with the pins and just tacked it in various places before stitching together. Does anyone else have trouble with this, and is it ok to carry on as I am? :6091:

If you use the long pins with the glass heads (they are easier to remove) and place them at right angles to the pieces you are pinning, they should hold the mohair fabric firm but without creases. I find it helps to use lots of pins and remove them as you go along, and I don't think you will have any problems.

Happy sewing. :)

Thanks Sheila, I will try that. I have never been very good at using pins, even when I was younger (I think it was more lack of patience then though, he he). I will let you know how I get on with the little girl bear :)

Well I have started my little girl bear, without the pins! She will only be about 8 inches when finished, I think if I made a bigger bear I would use pins then, but I seem to be getting on ok with just tacking a few stitches around the edge before sewing together. :6013:

I will admit Hayley I am very lazy and never pin just hold in position, the arms are proberly the hardest to do but I have learnt to never try to sew in one go do top of arm first then turn arm around and do around paw pad, that way works for me if its tecnically wrong who cares it works for me.
