Well here is my new Angel ballerina bear and she has yet to be named. She is approximately eighteen inches tall and everything about her is handmade including her wings, tutu, tiara and her brown glass eyes. She was originally inspired by the sawn lake ballerina’s hence the wings, tutu and swan like neck.

Anyway I hope you like her,
Love

She's terrific Melanie! Such wonderful detailing and a lovely original idea! I love the shaded downturned ears ... somehow they add a sense of real grace!

Great bear, I'm sure she will be on lots of little girls Christmas lists, oh... and some big girls !

Did you make the tiara as well ?
Dare I ask how many hours she took to make?

Hi guys thanks for your comments

Yip I did make her tiara and it is not actually that complicated to make, I promise it is not difficult at all, but those feather wings are so darn messy and sticky to make and take ages to do.

Paula I see what you mean about her ears I think they make her look more girlie…….strange thing is I have only just recently raised my ear positioning up higher on the bears head, nearly all my bears used to have low ears, so it was kinda strange doing this again.

I would not like to guess how long this bear has taken me to make, I now usually work on a few bears at the same time, but I have worked on the Angel bear specifically since last Wednesday and as I work full time on my bears I think she has had many many hours of work put into her and I only finished her last night.

ooooooooooops I should give Christies a plug here too as the mohair I used is their 25mm sparse oatmeal!

Don't you dare let any of my boy bears see her!

They are always moaning that there are not enough girl bears to go round, and she's gorgeous!

cheers,
G

Hey Mel, thanks for the plug. Your Angel bear is the best advertisment one could get for a mohair, she truly is beautful. Well done:6018:
