Hello everyone,

I am back from Paris where last sunday was held a doll & bear show called Paris-Creation.

My first interest has been to the teddy bear maker area .... Yes, this year, they had separated bear and olld stalls holder.... It just sounded like Alexandra Palace... While one of the hall was flooded (Doll and doll house area) the other one was counting how many visitors were getting in !!!!

If the Paris Creation organisers had wanted to "hide teddy bear maker from visitors" they wouldn't have done it differently !! What a shame.

Teddy Bear makers exhibitors were a little bit disapointed, feeling they were set up "away from business".

In add of this, the quality of the teddy bear on the table was average. there is not any selection made ahead of this event. Anyone who want to exhibit just has to pay for a stall (It makes a little bit more of money for the organisers to promote its cup of tea "Doll and Doll house stuff".

The cherry on the cake was when the teddy bear maker and I read the date of the next Paris Cretion Show next spring .. Guess when it is going to be held : Sunday 1st April 2007 at the same time that will be held The Great Bear the show I am the organiser....

Needless to say that any exhibitor I am in touch with told me they did not understand why paris Creation organisers picked up the same date as my show, it was a little bit more disapointing in add of everything I just write above. However, they teddy bear makers have already made their own choice and I have been pleased to hear them telling me they will be at my show instead of feeling themself like flowers pots.

If I had to tell what has been the good point, I will say I have made a great promotion of my show. About 1500 flyers, that I had set up "here and there" gone with the visitors.

Good day to everyone

Its always dissapointing when shows clash like that, but I am sure from the way you promote your show Eric, that the 'real' bear makers will make the right choice and come to your fair.

Are you coming to visit Hugglets in February, that is always such a lovely show.

Hello Judi,

Yes, I should come to the Winter Hugglets next February.

Hugglets is more than a nice show.

If a selection of the best brithish show had to be made, Hugglets would be out of competition because this show is in front of any other .. miles away even.

See you there !!

Best Wishes

Hi Eric

I met you at Ally Pally when Dawn introduced us.

I was interested to hear what you had to say about the Paris show - particularly as I am running workshops at the one in April. isn't it a pity that you and Kathy chose the same date this year, I had hoped to exhibit at both shows in 2007 but realised at Ally Pally I had already booked for Paris on your date - oh well there is always 2008 - may be you and Kathy can arrange to have following weekends next year and then I can persuade hubbie to have an extra weeks holiday in France travelling from one show to another - just as we are doing in Switzerland later in the year :o

Will probably see you at Hugglets, have you visited the June Paris show by any chance?

Hello Barbara and nice to meet you through this box lol

I don't personnaly know Kathy Moreau myself, the organisers of Paris Creation. Kathy Moreau did not pay any attention of the date I had chosen for my show because the date of other show in april 2007 has been known last november solely, at the last Paris Creation show.

Of course everybody have been surprised of this choice and most of exhibitors I met told me they will come down South of France to my show because and anyway they dont' want to feel to be apart at Paris Creation as it was the case this year.

There is not any war at all between my show and the Parisian ones. I just think acting that way Kathy Moreau did not respect the french teddy bear scene knowing the date of my show 2007 has been chosen since last april 2006 ... Maybe she can't do otherwise that a shame.

Myself, I do the best I can for the European teddy bear scene particularly in France organising The Great Bear but I can't control everything and if there is another organiser not intelligent enough to choose a different date than mine I can't help.

Maybe my show need to be more known to be respected. Anyway, in the way the organisers of paris Creation is acting, it's the french teddy bear scene that is not respected at all including visitors as well as exhibitors.

Of course I was at Paris last June for the show organised by "Les Amis des Gueules de Miel" I never miss this show which is well organised. I am sure I met you if you were there as exhibitor. For information the next show is going to be held next september : Sunday 16th september 2007.

I am coming to the Winter Hugglets yus lol

I met you with Dawn .. ok lol Can you tell me what was your trading name please I met lot of teddy bear lovers but always got problem to put a pic on name xxxx

Read you very soon

Best wishes

Hi Eric

I have visited Paris many times but this is the first time I will be exhibiting at a show there - I usually show in Germany in March -April.

The date of the April show was told to me well before the Nov show - but I do not know when it was decided up on or why it was decided up on - I just know that I have been asked to run 2 workshops there after Kathy heard reports of them :o

Beary wishes
