This guy has worn me out! He's a whopping 26" of beefcake! I've made him for a customer who wanted a big black laughing alpaca bear as a surprise gift for her husband this Christmas ... I hope he likes him! I'm off for a lie down now ...

Super job Paula I wish I was getting him in my stocking. You seem to have been so busy lately ?
Does your customer have so many bears herself that she thought it was about time her husband had one all of his own? He looks perfect for a gent !
I love alpaca, and the black is just great.
Happy Christmas

Thanks everyone! This bear played havoc with my eyes ... black is so hard to sew and to work character into. I am happy to have a break from working with the black alpaca for a while, that's for sure!!
Shelly, my customer rang after seeing one of my bears in an old copy of Teddy Bear Scene. It was purely by chance that my bear caught her eye ... she isn't a collector and she and her husband knew nothing of artist bears until a friend of hers passed on a few magazines. Her husband has a soft spot for teddy bears and so she thought she would like to have one made especially for him. One thing's for sure, he'll certainly know about artist bears when this huge black bear lands in his stocking!

He's certainly a whopper Paula.....and a very handsome hunk!!!
You've done a magnificent job with him, as you say, black is so difficult to work detail and character into...but he has oodles of it......you so are clever!
Stunning photography as well.........:6034:
