This is my last bear before Christmas. He was an important commission, because he's destined for Santa's sack and so I couldn't be late! He's created especially for my six year old niece (my sister commissioned him for her daughter) and I'm hoping he will deliver some special Christmas magic on the big day.
I've called him 'Sparkle' and he is made from my favourite Christmas mohair in a 'tizzy' pile with a pretty metallic thread running through it. He's about 20" in height and has hand painted sparkly eyes under sleepy lids.

He's fantastic - your neice will absolutely love him - aside from being fabulous he's also everything a six year old girl (well any of us really) could want in a Teddy.

Paula what a lucky girl, imagine finding her in your sack?
You seem to use such a variety of mohairs, is there a supplier that you could recommend for something a bit different?

Thanks everyone! It's nice to hear that you like Sian's bear ... Vicky, I'm was delighted to read you think he's exactly what a six year old would want as I worked really hard to capture what I thought would appeal to her.
Jenny and Yvonne, thanks especially for your comments about the eyes ... they took a while to get just right, but I'm pleased with the 'cartoony' look and I think it will put a smile on my niece's face!
Shelli, as you say, I do like to use lots of different fabrics for my bears. As such, they have to come from lots of different places! I get an idea for what I want and then go hunting both in the UK and abroad. This particular fabric came from Australia ... although it started life manufactured in Germany! Crazy eh? I like to find fabrics I haven't seen used too much in the UK bear world if I can, so that's lead me to places like Edinburgh Imports, Intercal, Gerry's, Bearycheap etc., but having said that, our very own Christie Bears seem to have a great range and I will be investigating it more thoroughly when my current stash has diminished a bit because buying in the UK would be convenient. Oakley Fabrics is a good mainstay here in the UK too and Norbeary's also offer a nice selection ... also I quite like the look of some of the English mohair Noble Fibres is offering these days! So much choice, so little time ... :6045: :D
