What are you positive or determined you are going to achieve in 2007?
Here are my resolutions....I don't like calling them resolutions coz they end up being broken...
I want to lose a bit of weight...when I started bear making I was a size 10 /12 and now I am a 16. So before Christmas I joined the gym and I aim to go 3 times a week. It goes without saying that when you do a standing up job 6 days a week and then you do a sitting down job it's easy to pile it on.
Next I aim to be more positive about my bears..I tend to get a bit paranoid and discouraged by tiny things which then affect me emotionally and they start eating away at my confidence. So without becoming complacent I am determined that I am going to try to ignore the unimportant things.
I am hoping to try harder, work harder and be more organised with my time.
And I am going to say 'no' a few more times..instead of saying 'yes' then regretting it.
Don't hold your breath on any of the above!!!

Well now...... My list is endless, so here is the shortlist:-
To be more adventurous with my bear designs. My head is buzzing with ideas, so I'm going to give them a whirl.
Try not to make the same mistake more than twice. That is just so boring when there are thousands of new mistakes just longing to be discovered!
I was going to mention something about losing weight, but seeing as I am munching a packet of crisps (something I very rarely do) I thought I would keep quiet about that one.
Happy New Year everyone.

p.s. Come on now, let's hear everyone else's resolutions.

You should be in my shoes girl - the height of the learning curve just disappears over the clouds. :6086:
Perhaps in 2007 - someone will want to buy one of my bears :6082:

Sandra it's in my personality to be hyper critical of everything I do....hairdressing, cooking, bears...and if I feel that anyone could be negative I take it very seriously..and it does get me down.
I often make mistakes but they don't see light of day !!! But you never learn a thing from getting it right first time!!!

Well we've just booked our holiday, so that's one New Year resolution achieved, we are usually on the last minute.
I hope to dedicate a lot more time to my rabbit making and hopefully put myself in a position to sell a few. Lose some weight, yawn , like every year, get fitter, yawn, like every year.
I just want to have as good a year as last year. After turning forty I branched out with the rabbit making and started to attend musical thatre classes, singing and dancing etc, It's just great fun and this year we are putting on a show. So with that and the rabbits hopefully it will keep me very busy.

I never get around to making new years resolutions as I can never think of any and even if I did I would probably forget what they are by the end of the week.
I know where you are coming from Jenny when you mention about being less paranoid when making your bears as I am the same.I wouldn't be paranoid at all though if my bears came out like yours-I would be jumping up and down with joy.I am so critical of what I turn out and many a head has ended up in the bin much to my husbands dismay.People have bought my bears and been so pleased with them but I have still thought to myself that maybe I should have done this or this....
Maybe my new years resolution should be to have more confidence in my work but that would be hard for me to do so I think I will just have one resolution for this year -that being buy more mohair than I did last year:6013:

Mine is simple. To stay in business. That's it.
At the beginning of every year I assess whether that's likely to be achievable or not ... a couple of years have had me worried, but I've hung on in there and struggled manfully to the end. Not sure that was the most sensible thing to do in hindsight, but it's done now.
So this year, as with all the others, I've read the signs and resolved to work hard, set myself targets and do my utmost to achieve them whilst giving myself time to develop and progress. Tough call eh? Ask me this time next year if I managed it!!:D
Jenny, being overly critical of your own work and personally affected by reaction to it, is a really common thing among bear makers. Grab hold of the aspects of your work that give you confidence and hold on to those. That should help keep things in perspective for you.
