Does anyone know if there are any books for needle sculpting teddy bears? I have discovered numerous ones for cloth dolls and are brilliant, but have not found anything devoted to our wonderful teddy bears.
I shall continue my search and see if I come up with anything.

I'm sure there's one by Barbara Allen - sorry can't get the title for you but should be on Amazon.

Thanks for that info. I looked on Amazon and yes, there was one book, but it was about needlefelting and I'm really searching for needle sculpting for bears faces, where armed with a long needle and strong thread the contours of the bear's face are pulled to create some real character.
Anyone else got any ideas on the sculpting technique :6044:

Sheila, if you are coming to Hugglets, I can give you a quick demo of needlesculpting. It is quite difficult to explain without being able to show you at the same time. Let me know and I will bring a head to sculpt.

Hi Sheila ,
I used to belong to a forum years ago where Rotraud Illisch (surname sp?) was a member , and she was an expert tutor on needle sculpting who had written several books .... might be a direction to look in ??

I am so looking forward to seeing everyone at Hugglets, it will be great that we can recognise each other with the badges. Thanks so much for doing that Shiela, how many have you sent out? I will get on with making up the bear now for the show, just needed a bit of a push:6045:

OOooo Judi if we can time it I'd also love a demonstration on needle sculpting as without seeing it, it's something I just can't get my head around. I think I'd end up with a wonky face!!
So if you get a time idea etc? I'm willing to give you all my number if you want to text/call when you're free or anything is going on :D
So excited.

Thanks for that video it was really informative, and it was great to be able too see that it doesn't take extremely long to get that really cute effect, you just need to know how. I have heard/ read about scissor sculpting but it was great to be able to see how it is done. Thanks a lot:6045:

Yes, I agree with everything Annette says. It's easy when you know how and see it demonstrated.
A brilliant video. Well worth watching.
Thanks. :6086:
