All Bear

Has the New Year filled you with inspiration for new works? It has me. I'm really fired up at the moment and really enjoying my bear making. My project this week is a 19/20" alpaca bear ... the alpaca is beautiful, tipped dark brown on a soft gold undercoat. I think I'm going to keep the design on the traditional side and just let the fabric speak for itself. So far, I've tweaked my pattern to make the adjustments I'm after and am just about to cut into the alpaca ...
Which reminds me, I'd better get back to it!

Well, apart from sorting out the paperwork for my year end accounts!!! aaaagh!! I am reflecting nervously on the fact that not a single bear is ready for the dreaded Hugglets yet!!

I have three bears with the heads finished- apart from the ears as I always leave them until last as I hate doing them. The rest of them is all cut out and ready to sew.I also have a 20 inch tradtional bear which is a commission in a lovely rusty colour that I can't wait to start on.I usually do a few bears at a time but I easily get carried away once I start on a few heads and have to remind myself to stop at some point or I would have so many on the go they would take me forever to finish.I also find that once I get to this point in the bears I am already thinking about what I am going to do next:eek:

I wouldn't trust myself doing multiple bears at once. I'd be sure to attach the wrong parts together - mmmmmm might be an idea! My fear point is the head - I love doing bodies and feet etc can get them done no probs, then I get cold feet and walk around for a few days looking at a headless teddy. How sad is that!!!!!!!!!!! Assembly is no problem - features - I'm shaking.........:6022:
