Hi Shelly.......Yes get there early...there's aways a long queue , but don't be put off by this, as it is so well organised, you even get offered a choc while you wait!! also its much easier if you purchase your ticket before you join the queue. The other tip I would say, is to wear layers, as it can get quite hot in the halls, especially at the start of the day, when it is really busy!!
Can't think of much else, except, you will have a wonderful time as there is so much to see.........and buy!!!
Ooooh.....and don't forget to come and say hello, and calm me down, I always get so nervous (stand 63 Hall2)....it will be lovely to meet you!!:6034:

Ooooh I know what you mean Yvonne, scary, I couldn't do it - good on you!! ;)
Shelly I went to Hugglets for the first time in Sept 06 - it's the best bear fair I've been to, I preferred it to the NEC. When you see the queue you think, 'well there'll be nothing left....!!' but it was fine, and it goes down really quick so you're not left waiting - YAY!! Once in, if you're anything like me, I go round like a kid in a sweet shop!!! I had the great pleasure of meeting Paula, Melanie Jayne and Yvonne there too, tried to keep myself composed for that, but once their backs were turned off I went again.... HAHAHA!! :p
It was nice too as I met up with some other artists from another forum and we went for coffee, it's nice to meet people you chat to on here all the time!!
Hope you have a fabulous time!! Enjoy!! :)

Hi Shelly
my advice be prepared to stay all day! We have been to Hugglets the last two years but for the September show. We get there in time for the doors to open and leave when they kick us out, I am sure other members could vouch for that!:6015: Certainly it is good advice to wear layers as it does get warm, I also took a small holdall with wheels to stash purchases in. Wish I was going to be there but will have to wait until Sept. Then if you get caught by the bug to attend fairs I can recommend Eric's fair in France. We went last year as visitors and had a great time.
Enjoy Hugglets

Yay, I'm going to be able to go Hugglets too! It will be my first bear fair and I'm really looking forward to it. :6013:
Now, um, it says on the Hugglets website to take cash as some sellers don't accept cheques etc. Is that generally true? I may want to buy a bear when I'm there, OK, make that intend to buy a bear lol, but I don't really want to carry around a bundle of cash with me. I'm bound to lose it or something.

I'm hoping to get there too - getting quite excited.
Lisa, you could always take a small amount of cash with you, say as a deposit, then when you find your bear, if the maker doesn't take cheques then I'm sure they'll be happy to hold him for you while you dash off to Kennsington High Street and the nearest cash point. That way you shouldn't have enough time to loose the money!

Hi Shelli
Sadly not!:6022: I did the show last year and thought it was fab, I'm not quite sure how you get re-invited:( - I think it's a bit of a waiting game.
Going as a visitor will be fun though, I have a little (!?!?!) shopping list and lots of people I want to visit, so I'm not feeling too hard done by.:)

Vicky I am totally amazed that you didn't get a return invite...I know there are others who have not had the nod either..and are what I'd consider to be the very creme de la creme of artists, too. I don't know what makes them invite some bear artists and not others...all a bit of an enigma!!! I do think that they have such a huge list of folks all wanting to go that it becomes a bit of a lottery!!!

Quite a few of us take credit cards these days Lisa ... most of my sales these days are credit related. Cash is always a pleasure to receive at a show! Some sellers accept cheques, but usually at a risk because quite often customers cheque guarantee cards don't cover the cost of their purchase.
Vicky, I'm really surprised you won't be exhibiting ... Hugglets are missing out if they haven't offered you a stand at this show! I know it's over subscribed (one of the reasons I was desperate to keep my stand despite not being confident I could manage to make enough bears) but even so ... If I was you I'd drop Irene Jackman an email and make her aware you're very eager to have a table at the next Winter Bearfest!

Jenny, Paula and Lisa .......:o thank you.
I suppose they try to keep a mix of continuity and freshness and it can't be any easy job allocating stands, when as Paula says it is so over subscribed.
Hope veryone going, exhibitors and visitors, a really good day. Hopefully I'll catch up with you later today!:)
Jenny, I hope you're feeling much better now and that you'll be fighting fit for the next one.:6088:
