This is Miss Dipity..my latest bear. She's going to be appearing on eBay later.

Why Dipity? Because I have had a very serendipitous week!! Firstly my daughter was doing a bridal fair today and the triple mirror belonging to my sister that had been earmarked for use at the fair was missing a mirror and so yesterday...at the eleventh hour.. we tried to 'find' a triple mirror. I clicked onto eBay and almost the first one I found was in Coventry..so I contacted the lady and asked her if she'd do a 'buy it now' and could we pick it up later. She gave her address and I called my husband to ask him to pick it up on his travels and it turned out the house was about 3 doors away from the roof he was working on....

Then we tried to rearrange our holiday flights but we were told it was going to cost almost as much as the flight itself to change so we were resigned to having to go ..then yesterday we had an email from the airline to say they had changed the flight time to 3 hours earlier ..and in the terms and conditions it states that we are entitled to a refund if they alter it by 3 hours or more....amazing!!!!

So 'Dipity' it is!!

Hey Jenny

she is beautiful. Does she take good fortune with her? If she does then I really feel that she is needed here.

My daughter has been ill since August and finally seemed to be getting back on her feet, she is starting an OU course next month, has landed herself a part time job and is even in the process of joining a gym. She started her job on Tuesday and came down to see us after work, it was great to see her
so much better.

Wednesday evening we got an extremely distressed call from her
telling us that she had had an accident. She and her fiance were
within sight of their flat and crossing the final junction where she
had priority. A black VW Golf sped down from her left, jumped the
Give Way and straight in to her car which is she has only had since July 05. The guy in the other car then reversed back up the road he had come down and drove off. Fortunately they got the registration number and seven witnesses have come forward. The roads where they live are narrow with cars
constantly double parked so most drive extremely carefully.
Everyone has estimated her speed to have been no more than 25mph
whereas the other car's estimated speed was 50 mph. My daughter's
car, Henry as he is black Ford, was taken away within an hour of the
accident, however her fiance had dashed back to their flat and taken
the photos. Thankfully they sustained no major injuries, shock
bruises and whiplash and in the fiance's case a nice lump on the
head was about it.

So just maybe I will have to try and secure her for my daughter!

Hugs, Steffi

Oh Steffi glad to hear your daughter and future son-in-law are ok. Can you believe that there really are people in the world who can be so nasty? I hope they find the culprits.

Jenny, lovely girly bear.:6088:

Do you think faux fur is easier to scuplt than mohair? I do get frustrated sometimes with the desire of the mohair to go in the direction that I don't want it to because of it's diagonal lay.

Hi Shelly

I can understand the problem with laid pile, but have you considered a dense straight (upright) pile mohair or alpaca. I wouldn't have thought that it would have the same characteristics and should sculpt well..

Yes, synthetic sculpts very well indeed. When I sculpt mohair I blow dry it first with a comb and a hot drier to lift the 'roots' that way it stands away a bit and sculpting is more effective. Alpaca is a doddle to sculpt.
