Hi, I've just joined and I have a new Steiff, a fox with the 8mm convex brass button, incised lettering and a lemon yellow double layer tag with red embroidered Steiff logo. It has KNOPF IM OHR under it, but no registration mark.
We know it must be pre Unification because it says Made in Western Germany.
There is no number.
He has enormous ears and is in a sitting position with a big white tipped tail and an opening mouth which gives him a smiling effect. He's about 8 or 9" tall when sitting. His eyes are very open and forward.
His colour is quite pale ginger.
We'd appreciate any help with what he is exactly.
