I just joined Teddy Bear Fair Forum today but I do love teddybears. I've only been making them for about a year or so but am thorougly hooked.:6034:

Welcome from me too! Wow I can't believe we have members from so far away now. I've also been making for around a year and have to agree its adictive hehe. What's your favourite part of bear making? Would love to see some of your creations if you get chance. Do you collect too?

Hi guys,
Thanks very much for the lovely welcome. I enjoy every part of the making the teddy from drawing the pattern on to the fabric till the finished product.

I'm afraid I'm not a very refined collector having just bought a LOT of teddies from general stores because I liked the look of them.:rolleyes:

I'm not sure how to put photos here but I'll research it a bit and then post one.

He is a lovely bear, has real appeal. Welcome to the forum as well, you will be able to tell us all about the Teddy world in South Africa. Do you have many shows, where do you sell your bears etc. I am sure that everyone on the forum would be very interested. :)

Thanks very much to all of you for your lovely comments and the really warm welcome.

I think there are only two shows here in South Africa but I could be wrong. I'm seriously considering attending at least one next year as I've never been to one before.

I've also only made four bears for other people so far but they were very happy them and would really like to design my own bears but am not sure I have the brains for that.

Yes, he's made of mohair. I love working with mohair although it is a little expensive. I like kohair too, not as expensive as mohair and so nice and soft.
