I've been reading this forum for a couple of weeks and just wanted to say hello. I've made several bears over the last few months and have just made a bear from my own design (which I'm very proud of because he even looks like I imagined he was going to look!)
I've ordered a couple of the books which I've seen recommended on here and now can't wait to get started on designing some more and learning new techniques.

Hello Cat,
Welcome to the forum!
Looks like you have been bitten by the bearmaking bug....there's no going back now!! and it's such a great feeling when something you have designed and made, turns out as you intended.
Just keep going.....your bound to have a few disasters along the way...but remember each one is a learning curve! Its all about having the enthusiasm and passion for the subject.....and it seem as though you have plenty!!!
Have fun...:6034:

Thank you. It seems a really friendly and informative forum. I'm sure I'll be picking everyone's brains for advice soon!
Shelly (I love your rabbit by the way, he's gorgeous!), yes we're about to make a complete change in lifestyle and will be moving to the south of France for a year in April (although hopefully longer;) ). I'm going to be trying to earn a living from selling various things I design and make, quilts, home accessories and hopefully bears. It's very exciting and rather scary at the same time but certainly beats sitting at a desk in London all day!

Hello Cat, Welcome to the Forum. I agree with Laurie, bear making is very addictive, and I doubt if there is a cure for it!
Best wishes,

Hellooo & welcome to the forum. :6034:
I'm new to bear making but seem to have been bitten by the bug hard, I'm (still) desperately trying to complete my first bear. Soon, I keep telling myself, soon.
How about posting some pics of your creations? I for sure would love to see them.
Regards
Lisa

:6034: It's so nice to meet everyone!
The bear bug certainly is very addictive, I'm just itching to try out some more ideas.
I love looking at the show and tell section so I'll try and upload some photos onto the forum tonight.
