Help... does anyone know this Very Large bear?

Hi there... sorry for jumping in so unannounced :)
I've been scratching my head for days now trying to find info on this very large bear i've looked at countless websites with no luck and was living in hope that someone on here could tell me a bit more about him.

I bought this bear at a car boot sale in N Ireland and the man I bought it from said he had bought it for his wife (girlfriend then)when she was 16 and they are married 40 years now.
The bear is about 40" high and has no labels or marks. The eyes seem plastic and the bear has tongue of red felt and also has a red on white polka-dot bow tie around his neck with a sort of gold elastic of some sort.

i would love to know a bit more about him so any help or advice on further searching will be gratefully received;)

It's really hard to identify a manufactured bear like this, a mohair jointed bear is much easier to research as there is much more info written on styles and makes over the years. If you like your bear I would just enjoy him, my son has my bear that I had when I was little and even though he is worth nothing to me he is priceless.
