Hi and welcome, it's quite nerve-racking taking that first plunge, but once you have learnt the basics, it's a lovely hobby to do. There is loads of info on the web, you can also borrow bear making books from the library, I would suggest making your first bear from a med pile mohair as it's easier to work with, starter kits are great and they always include tips in the instructions, christie bears do lovely ones:D. You're with the right people if you're enthusiastic about homemade bears.
Would definitely recommend having a go at making your own but also good to see a collector onboard. There are some fab examples of work around at the minute for you to indulge in.
