At last I've finished Freddie ... he's brother bear to 'Charlotte' and he's 19". I'm indulging myself with some timeless traditional bears lately ... I hope you like him!

Perfect in every detail, Paula. I am still intrigued by the centre seam though.

Ah, the centre seam! Well, it stems back to early Steiff bears ... to use the fabric to its most efficient, every seventh bear was made with a centre seam, thus making the seventh bears extremely highly prized these days!

Ah, yes, I can see the logic in that. It must save on waste fabric (something I hate is to waste anything). Thanks for the explanation. Are we all going to be making centre seamed bears from now on?

He is wonderful. I bet "Charlotte" is very happy. I like bears with a centre seam and also I like his two-coloured eyes. :)

Thank you for your kind comments everyone! Freddie has now found his new mum and will be flying off to the big 'ol USofA very soon!

I love that nose! A beautiful bear. I'm sure his new mum will love him loads.
