Movers lost this bear given to my wife when she was a child by her now deceased father. She has been heartbroken, until last month she hasn't slept without it in at least 10 years. While I know it will not be the same, I would like to find another one like it for her. I have been looking for weeks with no luck. Any help or steering in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife's bear. I know just how she feels. Anyway, we shall all do our best to find a replacement for you.

Can you recall the height of the bear, and did his arms/legs/head have moveable joints?.Looking at the picture I don't think he was jointed.
And lastly - when did your wife receive the bear? The date helps tremendously in the search.

Best wishes,
Sheila

He was about 16 inches tall, no joints just stuffing. I believe the bear was purchased around 1991. trying to contact her mother to see if she remembers exactly. She has always called him patches, not sure if that was his name, or one given by her because of his patches. At this point I would be interested in even having a new one made if finding an original isn't possible. I haven't told her I'm doing this, wanted to surprise her, plus didn't want to get het hopes up. Again thank you.

Was just wondering if the bear was bought in America or in England?

It's very sad that your wife's bear got lost like that, if the removal people had lost a saucepan or something it wouldn't have mattered so much but when it's something of sentimental value, that's very upsetting.

I wish you lots of luck in your search.

It never even occurred to me that bears would be different between the U.S & England. It was purchased in America. If it's not a bear any of you would know about because it's from America I am sorry for having wasted your efforts. :o

Oh Warren, I didn't mean to sound dismissive or anything, I just thought that if the bear had been made by a US company, it would be a starting point for research.
If I upset you in any way, please please forgive me. :(

No, I wasn't upset, felt a little dumb for not considering it would matter it was from America lol. Just truly sorry if I had wasted anyone's time. And I truly do appreciate your help. Thank you.
