Hi, Can anyone give me some advice as to where to source fabrics like alpaca and mohair. I have done the usual looking in magazines and the internet, but I'm sure there are more suppliers than I have found.
Thankyou, Shelly.

Hi Shelly,
Try www.christiebears.co.uk (http://www.christiebears.co.uk)- I order via their website, they're pretty good as I've always received my order the next day... that's quick enough for me!! :D
If you need samples of the mohair & alpaca, I think they have outlets (you'll need to ask for the locations) then you can go and see/feel the samples before you make an order.
I know that Chris Russell is a moderator on this forum (he works for them & he's the one who helped set up TBF) ..... maybe he can help you?

Hi Shelly..I use lots of suppliers. I have recently bought my fabric from the USA and Germany as well as the UK. The prices are great in the USA but here in the UK we tend to often get hit by VAT when you import stuff from outside the EU so you need to add that on to the price before you conclude it's a great deal because you may find your postman asks you for another £15 or so when it arrives.
Depends on what you are looking for and what type of fabric...ie: Schulte..Hemboldt or some of the less obvious ones like Steinlein..also some places sell hand dyed mohair. A good place to start is the Schulte website: www.reinhardschulte.de ..there are many links on there to lead you to fabric suppliers all over the world.

How about Ebay? Great if you are making small/medium sized bears.
