Hi Sandra!

I can help with that one! There's a post about it somewhere, but if you go to the User CP button at the top and click on it, you get the menu for Edit Profile etc, further down is Edit Avatar. Click on that, then pick a photo from your files, it needs to be maximum of 80 x 80 (dpi I think!!) then it will load.

Well ...how I did it is to go the advanced posting screen...click on the paper clip to add an attachment. Then upload the image where it says 'Browse' ... it shows at the bottom of the screen as an attachment file. You then click on the paper -clip again and click the file and it will appear in the post as if like magic!! The file size seems very small though...I think I may be doing something wrong as I can only upload really small photos.

Izzy, whizzy, let's get busy..... :6026: Now that's what I call magic!

You can now upload piccies larger than 19kb.here are the largest size images the forum will allow:

max 620 pixels wide
max 460 pixels high

512kb file size (max)

this does not apply to your profile pic or avatar (these are much smaller sizes)

here's proof that you can upload bigger images...

So, can anyone give me a clue?

I've attached a pic by uploading from my pc, but it's not showing in the body of the message. Hmph. :(

I can load a pic by using one from my website and using the 'upload image' icon in the tool bar, but can't see how to get the paperclip system to show the pic in the message.

Am sulking.

It was by luck that I managed it. When I uploaded the picture I went back to the paper clip, clicked on it and it said something about being an attachment so I clicked it anyway and some numbers appeared in the message box. I then wrote a message and pressed the 'preveiw message ' to see if it had worked and my goodness it had. I then clicked back to the previous page but the message and photo had gone so I did it all again pressed 'submit message' and hey presto it worked.
Good luck Shelly.:6087:

Hi Paula,

What size is your image? Is it JPEG or something else? Did you click on the paperclip for the second time to upload the image to your post? I will get back to you as soon as I receive your info.

If the answers to all these questions are OK then I will ask you to email me your image and we will investigate further what is causing the problem.

Dunnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :6034:

Would never have worked that out on my own though. :(

By the way, why is it that when you edit a message, you lose the paperclip facility?

click the 'go advanced' button at the bottom of the reply box - it will take you to the advanced reply form (this has the option to add attachments via the paperclip)

Do we need an NVQ in image posting?????????

Its a nightmare.

Come on you clever people - for computer klutzes like myself :6022: - pleeze write one set of instructions giving pics dimensions etc so that I can print it out and keep it by me. Then I can sort the paperclips from the mountains that Penny mentioned.

I need a lightbulb moment.
