Yesterday we put a counter on each of our Advance entries in the Exhibitor section, to show the number of times each of the web-pages has been viewed. Scroll to the bottom of each web-page and the information appears in faint text.
Already we have been able to draw some important conclusions about the site and how it works for the exhibitor.
The site is extremely popular and confirms why our Search Engine Ratings are so high.
There are exceptions, but mainly it is the images of bears that attract attention, not logos or business names. So don't waste space, load up your site with bears - but good images!
We can conclude already that a large proportion of visitors are fresh to the teddy bear scene. This is exactly the market that the site was set up to penetrate. So remember, most visitors don't know you.
Those exhibitors who are pro-active with their web-page generally attract more views than those who rely solely on the original content and format. Try changing the main image regularly and see if your viewing numbers improve.
Even if you are performing well, you will still benefit by changing your images and words for the benefit of those returning visitors.
For our part, we will be making some small changes to the site to add a bit more randomness and draw the visitors into the navigation bars.We would welcome your views and comments now that you have some more information at your finger-tips.
Best wishes
