On Thursday 21st September 2006, the final pieces of this new website were put together and Teddy Bear Fair.com was launched in the Christie Bears Newsletter. Magazine advertising starts on 25th September so get listed now to benefit from the interest that will be generated in this lead up to Christmas.

We very much look forward to hearing your comments, particularly if you find any faults in the way that the site operates. Most of all please tell your friends; this is the start of a new and exciting teddy bear meeting place.

Hi Chris

Great site, it's wonderful to have another UK site for everyone to chat on, how will i ever get any work done now:D

I am still finding my way around but i have come across a few little problems along the way.

I have joined the free listing section for now and noticed others have the area of where they are along with the tel no, for some reason i can't get my area to show up even though i have tried to edit it, any ideas?

Also when i tried to register on the forum it took me 4 attempts as it kept saying i was not entering the code correctly, the final time i entered it all in small case and it worked.

Is there a time out on the forum? I typed all this out earlier, went to get some cheese, as you do :D came back and it said i wasn't logged in (I was when i started) so lost all i had typed.

Oh dear, I have had 3 moans there, sorry:eek:

Thanks for a great site:)

Hi Wendi,

Thanks for your positive comments (and for the problems!).

Entering the site should be like entering a real fair, all buzz and lots to see. A bit easier once you know what you're looking for as the visitor can refine their search by creating their own fair either by category or by region or both!

Now to the problems:

We have a couple of issues on the area address on the free listing - in fact it should be your town, not your county. Also Rutland, being the smallest county in the UK, is like the mouse that roared. It keeps popping up everywhere just to remind people that it is a real county, like Derbyshire. We should have that sorted by the end of the week when the people of Rutland will have to find other ways of making themselves heard! :o

I'm affraid the registration on the Forum is case sensitive - Thanks for pointing it out for others to note.

Must have been a big piece of cheese!;) We have extended the time-out feature from 15 to 30 minutes, should be enough time for a full buffet meal.

We really appreciate your feedback, we will endeavour to act to improve the operation of the site for the benefit of everyone who visits. :)

Anyone with other comments? Here is the place to post them.

I have just found this site and I have got to say that it is so easy to navigate and I love the presentation too. Hope it grows into a great talking group success. :)

I signed up to the site a while ago. It's a really modern looking site and I hope..when beary folks get to know about it , it will be popular.

I am confused about the avatars though. I have tried to upload 3 different 80x80 pixel images because my one is not really very good but it keeps telling me the size is too big...what am I doing wrong??

Hi Jenny,

Welcome to the site and thanks for your comments.

Sorry you are having problems with your avatars. The maximum size for an avatar is 80 x80 pixels or 19.5 KB's whichever is the smaller. It is possible that your 80 x80 pixel images exceed 19.5 KB's, if so you need to reduce the size to match 19.5 KB's. If you are still having problems then perhaps you can email me the images and we will investigate further. email: info@teddybearfair.com.

Kind regards

Chris

Hi Chris.

I've just joined the group here. I wanted to congratulate you on the look of the site. Its crisp and 'easy on the eye', and looks to have a lot of interesting features although I'm still finding my way around. I do hope it quickly increases in popularity since a great deal of work has obviously gone into this. Many Congratulations to all concerned.

Hi Sandra,

Thank you for you very positive comments. The site has been designed as a virtual teddy bear fair principally to make the visitors experience enjoyable and to keep them on the site until they have found what they are looking for. We want them to go away having been successful and then tell their friends.

So far we have advertised in Teddy Bear Club International and Teddy Bear Scene, but in November we start advertising to a broader UK audience. I don't know of any other market place website that has been promoted in the way that Teddy Bear Fair will be. So please consider 'taking a table' in the Exhibitors section so that you are in the right place to be seen. And tell your friends what we are about as well!!

Best wishes

Chris:)
