Come on, I know that you are out there. There are so many really good bear makers and artists in Wales, it would be so good to hear from some of you on the forum. England is leading the way at present, but I know that we Welsh can chat too:rolleyes:
I have just spent four hours cutting mohair to take to the NEC on Sunday. Now I know that Teddy Bears are soft and cuddley, but not when they are still on the roll. When 15mts of Alpaca hits you on the head  you really know about it. So all I want to do now is lie in a darkened room, but instead I will take advantage of this lovely sunny afternoon and sneak off for a ride along the beach. Just hope the 'bump' fits under my riding hat:confused:
Look forward to hearing from the Welsh crowd, and look forward to seeing some of you at the NEC on Sunday.
Big Hugs
Judi :)

Hi Judi,
Can I be honorary Welsh? - I used to holiday there a lot - very happy memories. I know holiday in-comers are sometime frowned upon - but my heart is in the right place.

Hi Sandra
Of Course you are more than welcome, holidaying in Wales is qualification enough. Where did you holiday? I live in Porthcawl on the South coast, lovely sandhills, beaches and just a great place to live. Not many bear makers in the vicinity, but there are some brilliant ones living not too far away. You can add a profile to this or to the other forum, everyone can have their say. Look forward to hearing more about you.
Welsh hugs
Judi:D
PS I enjoyed my ride this afternoon, galloped along the beach and through the waves as the tide came in, bliss.

:6018: You are living in a very beautiful part of Wales, lovely coastal walks. We live down the coast from you between Cardiff and Swansea, again lucky to have such beautiful coast and countryside around us.
Once you have been bitten by the bear making bug there is no escape I'm afraid, so keep on making and post some pictures of your bears. There are some very generous people on the forum who are more than willing to share thier knowledge, so if you have any problems you only have to ask.
Look forward to hearing more from you. :6026:

From what I've seen of it, it is certainly beautiful, though I'm mostly home bound, so haven't seen much, but the views at the back of our house are lovely.
I'm doing a short 'teddy design' course, soon I'll be making my first attempt at a Teddy, I'll post the pic's, when he's done. I've done the one of my own proto types (wet cats), one more wet cat and then I'll be making my first bear:6045: I'm sure he'll have loads wrong with him, but my skills will improve with practise and with mistakes.:D

HI JUDI,
I am new to this forum and would like to introduce myself. I live in Swansea and have been making bears for 8 years, all shapes and sizes and all made from lovely German mohair. I have lost count of how many bears I have sold.
It is nice to talk to somebody local.
Look forward to hearing from you or anybody in this area.

Hi Sandy, welcome to the forum. :6013: It is nice to have another countryman (sorry, countrywoman) on board, and I do know that there are a few bear makers in Swansea.
Did you know about the 'Bearathon' in Cardiff, in October? It is a fund raising event for the Air Ambulance, being organised by the 'Bear Makers of South Wales' they meet once a month for bear making and swopping ideas, if you would like details give me a ring. (On the Christie Bears) number. They are making a bear in the morning and in the afternoon there are stands of bear artists, and us of course, should be a nice friendly day and it would be nice to encourage a few more people along.:) Don't forget you can join in any of the disscussions going on, everyone loves to meet someone new, why not add your details to the main body of the forum and meet the rest of the Bear crazy people :6018: :6035:

Thanks for your reply Judi.
I shall try and come to cardiff if possible. I am away in Scotland to a wedding in October, but shall see what I can do.
Look forward to hearing from any other bear makers in Swansea.

...used to live in a small village called Trelech, nestled between Camarthan and Cardigan. We as a family had two wonderful years there, living and working on a farm. We had 24 milking cows and the usual array of animals.
:6013:
Now I am in Ledbury, just near to the border of Wales, working in a different kind of animal haven, A Teddy Bear Shop. Less feeding and a lot more hugging.
Have fun.
