Thanks everyone! :6013:
I'm off to read my moderating handbook now ... it took me until the age of 41 to pass my driving test, so fingers crossed I get the hang of moderating a bit quicker - for all our sakes!;) :D

Yep, absolutely true Melanie. I've had my license for two whole years! I used to think I had no need to learn to drive ... but then I got divorced. Ho hum! I was extremely nervous about taking the plunge, but very frustrated that I couldn't drive, so I forced myself (after days of sitting looking at the phone!) to make a call to a driving instructor. Since doing that, I've never looked back ... it's the best thing I ever did and I love it!! I'm so proud of my little Saxo and the fact that I don't need to scrounge lifts any more. I still get a thrill every time I sit in the driver's seat and turn the key!! :D
Don't leave it any longer Melanie, it's such a boost to your self-confidence! :)

I passed my test in 1976 and didn't have a car...duh!! Then I lost my confidence and so stopped driving. I 1993 I got a job as a technical expert for Wella, the hair products people..they asked me if I had a clean driving license and of course I did coz I had stopped driving in 1978!! I got the job and went from not driving at all to whizzing all over the country in an enormous estate car...it was a baptism of fire. I had some refresher lessons and now I love driving...it's so liberating!!
PS: I still have a clean driving license!!

Congrats to the new moderators!:6013:
Is it anything like being a terminator? :D
As for driving...........nah! It's not for me, i always try to get the other half to drive on the hard shoulder if we get stuck in a traffic jam on the M25 - can you imagine what i would be like? I can't concentrate on anything for longer that 2 minutes - i would be a danger to all and sundry.

No worries Sandra. When Chris first set up the site and asked me to moderate, I said nooooooooo, I am to scared. :6021: But once I had got used to it I just forgot to mention to him to add me to the list until he appointed Jenny and Paula. Duh.
As to the driving topic, Melanie you really should get mobile, it is so liberating. My friend has just passed her test at 56 and she had to try it six times, now she is whizzing all over the place in her little blue bomb. So go on give the driving instructor a ring and get started.:6080: We can all test you on your highway code.

That works Penn, as long as you still have another half! I got a bit of a wake up call when I found myself single again after twenty years of marriage!!

I'm sooo glad I joined this group - I always thought I was a weird freak at 43 for not being a driver :p I know I'm very lucky to have such an accommodating Hubby , and I just get stoopid nervous.I also think that a lot of drivers in my immediate area must be mental - when behind a wheel !:D Could there be something a bit ,you know ....dim... about us beary folk:confused:
