I'd love to show you some of my bears, but I don't have access to a digital camera - maybe Santa will bring me one?

cheers,

Oooh, she's so pretty Jenny! I love feminine bears. My son always says my girl bears look like boys in drag ... charming eh?!!:(

Never one to refuse an invitation to show off my pics, I'll happily share a couple of recent bears, (photos courtesy of my sister). I made these for Hugglets in September and fortunately, they all found new homes on the day. I am now frantically trying to make Christmas orders and find time to create a couple of bears for my website ... so far I have a nice lilac head! (Er, the bear that is, not me personally!:p )

Thanks girls! I love getting feedback!! (Especially nice feedback of course!!:p )

After Jenny's competition question on another thread, I thought I'd pop back in here and add a few more pics to beef up the visuals! These are some of my British Bear Artist Award winners and nominees, made from 1997 to 2003 - they were all entered in the 'Big bears undressed' category.

Bon-Bon was made in '97 and took second place.

109

Pazazz was made in '98 and took second place.

110

Himself was made in '99 and won!

111

My Indulgence was nominated in 2000. (From memory, that meant top six in the category)

112

The Lynx Effect was nominated in 2003.

113

I didn't enter between 2000 and 2003 because my life suddenly went topsy turvy! Still, I've had another go this year (not in the BBAA's, in the Toby's and probably the Golden Teddy's) and will see how they go! *GULP!!!*

Well I've finally finished my rabbit !!!!!

This is my first real attempt at bear (rabbit ) making. I've made him from my own pattern , and the biggest compliment would be that he looks like a rabbit.
I have enjoyed making him, and the tips that everyone has been so generous to give me have really helped. I've tried a bit of sculpting, trimming and a tiny bit of shading, although that part really scares me, and at the moment I'm not sure where to put it. The whiskers are compliments of Sheila , so thanks again, I think they really work. I'm hoping to make another one for my new nephew, with a musical box in.

I have really enjoyed the forum and it has kept me motivated especially looking at everyone elses wonderful work.

I know I've made some mistakes on proportion and some of the stuffing techniques but I hope to alter these the next time. If anyone has any advice I would welcome it , I've got big shoulders.

Shelly, your rabbit is just FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are going right to the top of the class with this one. And I know everyone (did I say EVERYONE) is going to agree with me. I am so glad my pony was able to supply the whiskers for the finishing touches. They do give a really natural look, don't they?

Well done, Shelly. What is your next project? Can't wait to see it!

Just like to share with you.....a seasonal bear called Merry!!

He is 17ins, and made from the most wonderful Alpaca/Mohair mix ( I actually bought this from yourselves Judi and Chris) I think its called Vanilla Ice. Its fantastic to work with!

Merry is currently on the cover of TBCI magazine (December issue).....which makes me very proud. Hope you like him.

I hope that this photo loads up ok as it is the first one that I have done. This is a picture of Rimini a 17 inch bear.He is my latest bear and the first I have done with coloured eyes that I hand painted myself.I don't know how people make tiny bears as they must have so much patience. It was hard enough trying to keep hold of the eyes even with my forceps.
