I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the Australian company called 'Joy Toys'. I have had a very worn old bear for many years, I think he has had his boot button eyes replaced and his nose 'done'!
On his right foot there is a very worn label written in green.
I brought this bear some years ago when my daughter was showing an interest in antique bears and dolls, at the time I paid around £50 pounds. It was alot of money then, I wondered if there is an interest in 'Joy Toys' and if there are many bears around.
Grateful for any information
Elaine :)

I have found a bit of information about Australian Joy-Toys.

Firstly, they used white labels with green stitched writing - Joy-Toys, made in Australia. This was always on the right sole.

The bears always had square noses, no neck disc, but discs in the limbs. This became the trademark for Joy-Toys of Australia.

Do you still have the bear or a photo? It would be interesting to track him/her down.

Cheers,

Thanks Shiela for your reply. I will try and get to grips with posting photos on the forum. It took me long enough to get used to e - mails etc.
However I will persevere! I like a challenge.
Regards Elaine:rolleyes:
