Just had a thought which might help others when having to stitch that dreaded nose!
What I have found to be easier, is to stitch the out line of the nose shape in single strand black (or any other nose colour) cotton.
Begin to fill in with usual stranded cotton, keeping within your guide lines. When nose complete carefully remove guide lines.
Iam probably telling what everyone 'nose' anyway, but hope this may help that little problem;)

That sounds like an excellent way of keeping the nose even all the way round. Thanks for that tip. I became so frustrated once with a nose that refused to co-operate, that I tried needle felting a nose directly on to the bear. It worked really well as I could add or remove pieces of fleece as I went along. When finished, I painted it with fabric stiffener, then coloured and varnished it.

Anyone else have a favourite 'nose technique'?

Cheers,
Sheila

Elaine, that's a great idea!! i always have alot of troubles keeping the nose symmetrical so it usually ends up lopsided.. :( i'll try ur method on my next bear. (i'm trying my hand at needlefelting now. :p it's fun!!)
