I joined this forum simply to identify a Teddy Bear that I won in a drawing during the late 1980's. The drawing was held at a Sears store in Leominster, MA - USA.
He has a cap sewn on his head and cloth garment that looks like a toolbelt, both with the "Craftsman" logo on them. Measures approximately 24" high, 28" across. He is in perfect condition as he has been stored in a large heavy duty plastic bag since shortly after I acquired him. There is a tag on the right leg under the garment which is sewn into the bear that reads: -------------------------------------- CETCO INT'L, INC. Norcross, GA 30093 All New Materials Contents: 100% Polyester Stuffing Made In China Not recommended for Ages 3 and under -------------------------------------- I realize this is not a custom nor what I believe what a collector would consider a high quality Teddy Bear. What I was wondering is based on what it is and how many were possibly made what it's collectibility and value would be. I mean if it is not worth a lot I would simply give it to a relative's child as a toy. But before I do so wanted to be certain that it was not of any value to a collector first. I collect pewter and resin statues, over 100 of each, and none were cheap. I have somewhere between $10-$15K invested so far and I would be horrified to see a hard to find piece given to a child who would play with it as a toy rather than a collectible. So if anyone has info or knows where I can obtain it I'd greatly appreciate the assistance. Pix are below with a soda can included for scale. Again, thanks for any info. |
